Die Erfindung betrifft ein als Großgussteil hergestelltes Batteriegehäuse für ein Kraftfahrzeug mit einem Bodenabschnitt (20), der eine sich in Fahrzeugquerrichtung erstreckende Breite und eine sich in Fahrzeuglängsrichtung erstreckende Länge aufweist, und mit mindestens einer Seitenwand (22), die sich außenseitig des Bodenabschnitts (20) in Fahrzeughochrichtung nach oben erstreckt, um einen Innenraum zur Anordnung von Batteriezellen und/oder Batteriemodulen auf dem Bodenabschnitt (20) mindestens einseitig seitlich zu begrenzen, wobei ferner mindestens eine, sich von dem Bodenabschnitt (20) nach oben oder von dem Bodenabschnitt (20) gegenüber dem Bereich des Innenraums nach außen erstreckende Zusatzwand (26) als Schutzelement ausgebildet ist.[English]
