Die vorliegende Erfindung schafft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben einer Tankvorrichtung (1) bei welchem durch eine Steuereinrichtung (SE) mit Sensoreinrichtungen (Si) ein Bestimmen eines Gasdrucks in einem Gasleitungssystem (GL) erfolgt und ein Bestimmen einer Gastemperatur in zumindest einem oder mehreren Tankbehältern (TB) erfolgt, wobei der eine oder die mehreren Tankbehälter (TB) an das Gasleitungssystem (GL) angeschlossen sind, wobei die Steuereinrichtung einen Füllstand der Tankbehälter auf Basis der Sensoreinrichtungen erst nach Erreichen zumindest eines entsprechenden Freigabekriteriums nach einem Öffnen einer Ventileinrichtung am Tankbehälter oder an mehreren Tankbehältern ermittelt, wobei der Füllstand des jeweiligen Tankbehälters aus der Gastemperatur im jeweiligen Tankbehälter und aus dem Gasdruck des Gasleitungssystems (GL) ermittelt wird.[English]
