Optical apparatus (2) comprises: • a body (4) comprising material; • a plurality of optical elements (6a, 6b) formed of the material of the body (4); and • a plurality of alignment holes (8a, 8b) formed in the material of the body (4), • wherein: • the alignment holes (8a, 8b) comprise fibre or other waveguide alignment holes aligned with one or more of the optical elements, and/or the alignment holes (8a, 8b) comprise alignment holes configured to receive mechanical elements for fixing and/or aligning the body to at least one further body.[French]
