The invention relates to a method (200) for providing training data for a machine learning technique for controlling a motor vehicle (105, 110), comprising the steps of: sampling a signal (310) at the motor vehicle (105, 110), wherein the signal (310) reflects a time profile of a predetermined variable at the motor vehicle (105, 110); creating a PAN matrix profile (325) of the signal (310); and determining portions of the signal (310) which are characteristic of the variable in the context of the motor vehicle (105, 110).[French]
