Verfahren zum Erzeugen einer eine Umgebung eines Fahrzeugs (1) beschreibenden Umgebungsinformation, wobei das Fahrzeug (1) eine Sensoreinrichtung mit wenigstens einen Umgebungssensor (4) aufweist und die Umgebungsinformation wenigstens eine Rasterkarte umfasst, wobei die Rasterkarte eine Vielzahl von Zellen, welche jeweils einem Teilbereich des Umgebungsbereichs des Fahrzeugs zugeordnet sind und welchen jeweils ein Belegungswert zugewiesen ist, aufweist, mit den Schritten: a) Aussenden eines Sensorsignals durch den Umgebungssensor (4); b) Empfangen eines reflektierten Signalanteils des Sensorsignals durch den Umgebungssensor (4); c) Zuordnen des reflektierten Signalanteils zu einer oder mehreren Zellen der Rasterkarte ausgehend von einer aktuellen Position des Umgebungssensors (4); d) Verändern der jeweiligen Belegungswerte der Zellen, denen der reflektierte Signalanteil zugewiesen wird, um jeweils einen variablen Zählwert, wobei der Zählwert von einem Winkel zwischen der jeweiligen Zelle und der aktuellen Position des Umgebungssensors (4) und/oder von einer derjeweiligen Zelle zugeordneten Erfassungsintensität abhängt.[English]
