Die Erfindung betrifft einen modularen Industriesteckverbinder, der ein Steckverbindermodul (5) aufweist, welches aus zumindest zwei eigenständigen, gleichartig ausgeführten und aneinander lösbar fixierten Funktionseinheiten (6) gebildet ist. Die Funktionseinheiten (6) sind innerhalb einer Ebene (x, y) angeordnet und bilden innerhalb dieser Ebene (x, y) eine N x M-Matrix aus, wobei N und M jeweils natürliche Zahlen größer als zwei sind. Die Erfindung bezieht sich weiterhin auf einen modularen Industriesteckverbinder, der mehrere Funktionseinheiten (6) aufweist, die innerhalb einer Ebene zumindest teilkreisförmig angeordnet sind.[English]
