Abstract[English]
A method of operating a cold emission electron source (8). The method comprises the steps of measuring the emission current using an emission current detector (15), specifying the zero value of the emission current noise using an evaluation unit (12), specifying the emission current noise as the difference between the measured emission current and the zero value of the emission current noise, evaluating the emission current noise, and stopping the electron emission if the emission current noise exceeds the limit value (21 ) of the magnitude of the emission current noise stored in the memory of the evaluation unit (12).[French]
L'invention concerne un procédé de fonctionnement d'une source d'électrons à émission par champ froid (8). Le procédé comprend les étapes consistant à mesurer le courant d'émission à l'aide d'un détecteur de courant d'émission (15), à spécifier la valeur nulle du bruit de courant d'émission à l'aide d'une unité d'évaluation (12), à spécifier le bruit de courant d'émission en tant que différence entre le courant d'émission mesuré et la valeur nulle du bruit de courant d'émission, à évaluer le bruit de courant d'émission, et à arrêter l'émission d'électrons si le bruit de courant d'émission dépasse la valeur limite (21) de l'amplitude du bruit de courant d'émission enregistrée dans la mémoire de l'unité d'évaluation (12).
