Abstract[English] Disclosed in the present application are a base station and a cleaning system. The base station comprises: a housing, with a receiving chamber defined in the housing, wherein the receiving chamber is configured to dock with at least part of a surface cleaning apparatus, and the housing comprises a bottom wall and a side wall; a charging contact arranged on the side wall of the housing and configured to dock with a charging connector of the surface cleaning apparatus, so as to implement power and/or signal transmission between the surface cleaning apparatus and the base station, wherein the charging contact can move between a first position and a second position, and the charging contact is configured not to obstruct the surface cleaning apparatus from entering the receiving chamber when at the first position, and is configured to be in contact with the charging connector when at the second position; and a trigger device connected to the charging contact, wherein the trigger device is configured such that the surface cleaning apparatus can drive the trigger device after docking with the base station, so as to maintain the charging contact at the second position.
