Abstract[English]
A photonic apparatus for use in radiofrequency beamforming, with support for multiple users, is provided. An optical crossbar array is coupled to a transmit or receive antenna array. Controllable devices such as attenuators or switches operate to produce complex-weighted versions of optical input signals, and the complex weightings are generated in support of beamforming operations. Delay elements can also be provided to compensate for synchronization losses due to different optical path lengths in the array.[French]
L'invention concerne un appareil photonique destiné à être utilisé dans la formation de faisceau radiofréquence, avec une prise en charge de multiples utilisateurs. Un réseau crossbar optique est couplé à un réseau d'antennes d'émission ou de réception. Des dispositifs pouvant être commandés tels que des atténuateurs ou des commutateurs fonctionnent pour produire des versions à pondération complexe de signaux d'entrée optiques, et les pondérations complexes sont générées en soutien aux opérations de formation de faisceau.
