Abstract[English] An imaging agent (210) suitable for in vivo X-ray fluorescence (XRF) is represented by the formula XMOn. X represents an alkali metal. M represents a metal, namely, Zirconium, Niobium, Molybdenum, Ruthenium, or Rhodium. On represents a whole number n of Oxygen atoms. Methods for XRF imaging include administering the imaging agent (210) to a subject (220) orally, by injection, or intravenously (S101). A radiation beam (230) projected onto the subject (220) causes emission of X-rays (240) from the imaging agent (210) administered to the subject (220) (S103). The X-rays (240) emitted from the imaging agent (210) are detected by a semiconductor X-ray detector (250) to form an image (S105). The imaging agent (210) comprises a compound selected from the group consisting of LiZrOn, LiNbOn, LiMoOn, LiRuOn, LiRhOn, NaZrOn, NaNbOn, NaMoOn, NaRuOn, NaRhOn, KZrOn, KNbOn, KMoOn, KRuOn, KRhOn, RbZrOn, RbNbOn, RbMoOn, RbRuOn, RbRhOn, CsZrOn, CsNbOn, CsMoOn, CsRuOn, CsRhOn, FrZrOn, FrNbOn, FrMoOn, FrRuOn, and FrRhOn.[French] Agent d'imagerie (210) convenant pour une fluorescence par rayons X in vivo (XRF) est représenté par la formule XMOn.
