Abstract[English]
A method and system for managing certificates in a public key infrastructure (PKI) are provided. The method comprises, at a first entity in the PKI: partitioning a set of certificates into a plurality of subsets generating, for each subset of the plurality of subsets, a certificate revocation list comprising a list of revoked certificates in the respective subset, receiving notification that a certificate has been revoked by a certificate authority in the PKI, identifying a subset containing the revoked certificate from the plurality of subsets and updating the certificate revocation list for the subset.[French]
L'invention concerne un procédé et un système de gestion de certificats dans une infrastructure à clé publique (PKI). Le procédé comprend, au niveau d'une première entité dans la PKI, les étapes consistant à : diviser un ensemble de certificats en une pluralité de sous-ensembles générant, pour chaque sous-ensemble de la pluralité de sous-ensembles, une liste de révocation de certificats comprenant une liste de certificats révoqués dans le sous-ensemble respectif, recevoir une notification selon laquelle un certificat a été révoqué par une autorité de certification dans la PKI, identifier un sous-ensemble contenant le certificat révoqué à partir de la pluralité de sous-ensembles et mettre à jour la liste de révocation de certificats pour le sous-ensemble.
