Provided herein are non-naturally occurring CRISPR/Cas system for modifying a genome at a cold temperature, comprising a cold-tolerant Cas effector or functional fragment thereof and a guide RNA. Also provided are methods of modifying a genome of a cell at a cold temperature.[French]
