Abstract[English]
The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for cross-cutting sections of tree stumps in order to reclaim, resaw and repurpose them. The apparatus is a rotary arm system that comprises an ami that rotates around a vertical axis so as to guide a cutting tool around a perimeter and a height of tree stumps. The method relates to the use of a rotary arm system to cross-cut tree stumps by rotating a cutting tool mounted to a rotary arm around the perimeter and the height thereof. The invention is not limited to tree stumps. It also relates to a rotary arm system and method adapted for other workpieces, in which case, the rotary arm and the end effector mounted thereon are configured for working around an outside surface of the workpiece.[French]
L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé pour couper transversalement des sections de souches d'arbre afin de les récupérer, de les scier à nouveau et de les réutiliser. L'appareil est un système de bras rotatif qui comprend un bras qui tourne autour d'un axe vertical de façon à guider un outil de coupe autour d'un périmètre et d'une hauteur de souche d'arbre. Le procédé concerne l'utilisation d'un système de bras rotatif pour couper transversalement des souches d'arbre par rotation d'un outil de coupe monté sur un bras rotatif autour du périmètre et de la hauteur de celui-ci. L'invention n'est pas limitée aux souches d'arbres.
