Abstract[English]
The technology relates to transgenic plant cells comprising at least one copy of an expression cassette comprising a promoter that causes the production of a mRNA transcript and a nucleic acid sequence encoding a vanadate-dependent bromoperoxidase (vBPO). The plant cell may be part of a plant, which may express the vBPO in only some plant organs or tissues. The transgenic plant or an extract thereof may be used as an animal feed supplement or animal feed. The presence of bromoform in the transgenic plants means that they can reduce the methane emissions of animals that they are fed to.[French]
L'invention concerne des cellules végétales transgéniques comprenant au moins une copie d'une cassette d'expression comprenant un promoteur qui provoque la production d'un transcrit d'ARNm et une séquence d'acide nucléique codant pour une bromoperoxydase dépendante du vanadate (vBPO). La cellule végétale peut faire partie d'une plante, qui peut exprimer la vBPO uniquement dans certains organes ou tissus végétaux. La plante transgénique ou un extrait de celle-ci peut être utilisé comme complément alimentaire pour animaux ou comme aliment pour animaux.
