On July 18, 2017, the Resolution 311-E/2017 was published in the Official Gazette of Argentina announcing the upcoming increase in fees for patents, utility models, trademarks and industrial designs. Like in 2016, the fees will be increased in two phases – on August 1, 2017 and October 1, 2017.

As of June 29, 2017, the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM) has introduced slight increase in fees for trademarks, industrial designs, etc. Still, the patent fees which underwent changes in view of the entry into force of the new Patent Law remain unchanged.

On August 1, 2017, a series of new IP laws will come into force in the Cayman Islands. The Patent, Trade Marks and Design Rights Registration Laws were adopted on December 19, 2016, and the corresponding Regulations were published on May 26, 2017.

On July 6, 2017, the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand (IPONZ) and the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce of Colombia (SIC) joined the Global Patent Prosecution Highway (GPPH) pilot program. This expands the GPPH network to already 24 participating IP Offices.
