For obtainment of a filing date, a design application must contain a request for registration, graphic representations of the design, and indication of products for which the design will be used.

A notarized Power of Attorney should be submitted within two months from the filing date.
A certified copy of the priority document and its English translation should be provided to the Patent Office within three months from the filing date.

A design application in Cambodia is subject to formal examination only.
Disclosure is not taken into consideration if it occurred within twelve months prior to the filing date or the date of priority, if any.

Grant, validity term and maintenance fees
The grant fee should be paid within one month from issuance of the decision to grant a design patent. A design in Cambodia is valid for five years from the filing date and may be renewed for two additional periods of five years each by payment of a corresponding fee. Renewal fee must be paid within 6 months prior to the validity term expiration. Late renewal is possible within a 6-month grace period on condition of payment of an additional fee.
