Cambodia became a validation state of the EPO and now European patents, filed on or after March 1, 2018, can be validated in Cambodia. After validation, they will confer essentially the same protection as patents granted by the EPO for the now 44 European and non-European countries.
It is necessary to perform the translation of the claims into Khmer and English and pay the prescribed fee for publication to the Cambodian Ministry of Industry and Handicraft (MIH) within the period of three months from the date of publication of the European patent.
