Fees associated with filing industrial design applications in Lebanon as well as other design fees are available in the fee calculator.

• The term for filing design application in Lebanon

The industrial design application in Lebanon claiming priority must be filed within six months from the priority date. The restoration of this term is not possible.

• Minimum of filing documents in Lebanon

To obtain the date of filing the design application in Lebanon must contain:
- request to grant a patent containing applicant(s) and agent details;
- three sets of drawings of the design;
- description of a design;
- filing fee;
- certified copy of the priority document, the translation into Arabic is not required;
- Power of Attorney, legalized by the Lebanese Consulate abroad and locally legalized by the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

• Multiple design applications

Several designs may be included in a single design application (should not exceed 100).

• Validity term

The validity term of design in Lebanon is 25 years from the date of filing renewable for one more 25 year period.

• Examination of a design application in Lebanon

Examination of a design application in Lebanon is not provided.

• Novelty grace period

The novelty grace period provision is not stipulated in the Lebanese design legislation.

• Representation by a patent attorney

Foreign applicant(s) must be represented by an agent, a registered Lebanese patent attorney.

• Note

The applicant may request partial publication of design embodiments in the application i.e. some designs may be kept confidential.
