Mexico: official fees increase

According to the Official Gazette publication from November 30, 2015, official fees for patents, trademarks, utility models, industrial designs and other services provided by the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property were increased by 5 – 10 %. It is important to mention increase of the following basic fees:

• from 7172.92 to 7553.97 MXN for filing a patent application;
• from 2911.88 to 3099.84 MXN for granting a patent;
• from 2056.71 to 2162.13 MXN for filing a utility model or industrial design application;
• from 2303.33 to 2457.79 MXN for filing a trademark application;
• from 2433.41 to 2628.14 MXN for a trademark renewal.

Furthermore, increase affected maintenance fees, fees for filing a national phase application under the PCT, fee for registration of a well-known trademark as well as fees for technical services, etc.

The mentioned changes came into force on January 1, 2016. Our quotation system has been updated accordingly.
