The present invention relates to a novel process for the preparation of 2-[4-[2-[4-[1-(2-ethoxyethyl) benzimidazol-2-yl] piperidin-1-yl] ethyl] phenyl]-2-methyl propionic acid (I). It further relates to a process for the purification of Bilastine (I), is having purity greater than 99.0% by High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).[French]
