Yemen: cancellation of using class heading in trademark applications

With reference to the IP-Coster agent JAH & Co. IP, the General Head of Intellectual Property Directorate of Yemen issued a public notice regarding cancellation of using class heading in trademark applications. Pursuant to the revised law, applicant should specify the goods/services for which the registration is sought.
The above-mentioned amendment entered into force on June 6, 2016. Trademark applications filed after June 6, 2016, containing class heading will be withdrawn by the Yemeni Trademark Office.
