Jordan: 152nd member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty

On March 9, 2017, Jordan joined the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) following the approval of accession to the PCT by the Jordanian Council of Ministers in December, 2016.
On June 9, 2017, Jordan will become bound by the Treaty, and its residents and nationals will be entitled to file international applications under PCT. Consequently, all international applications filed on and after June 9, 2017 will automatically designate/elect Jordan.
Jordan has become the 152nd party to the Treaty, thus, contributing to the expansion of the international patent system.
