China: trademark fee reduction

Following the notice issued by China’s Ministry of Finance on March 23, 2017, the fees related to trademark registration procedure will be reduced by 50 per cent starting from April 1, 2017. Both residents and non-residents of China will be able to benefit from the introduced changes.

Therefore, the revised fee schedule will be as follows:

 

Filing (a common trademark) 300 RMB per class (44 USD)
Filing (a collective trademark) 1500 RMB per class (218 USD)
Filing (a certification trademark) 1500 RMB per class (218 USD)
Fee per each goods/services in excess of 10 30 RMB (4 USD)
Renewal 1000 RMB per class (145 USD)
Late renewal surcharge 250 RMB per class (36 USD)
Recordal of assignment 500 RMB per class (73 USD)
Change of name/address/agent 250 RMB per class (36 USD)
Reissuance of a trademark certificate 500 RMB (73 USD)
Opposition 500 RMB per class (73 USD)
Cancellation 500 RMB per class (73 USD)
Recordal of license agreement 150 RMB per class (22 USD)
