Validation of European Patent
Detailed information related to the European Patent.
According to the London Agreement, European Patent Application is automatically valid in Luxembourg. Therefore, a separate Validation request is not mandatory.

Representation by a patent attorney
No representation by a Luxembourg-registered attorney is required. However, it is recommended that foreign applicants appoint a local Luxembourg attorney as an "Address for Service" for receiving, interpreting, and handling any communication from the Luxembourg Intellectual Property Office on behalf of the applicant.
Annual fees are due each year starting from the 3rd one and should be paid before the expiry of the last day of the month in which the anniversary of the filing date occurs. Late payment is possible within a six-month grace period by paying a corresponding surcharge.
