Time limits for Uzbek national phase entry
The deadline for PCT national phase entry in Uzbekistan is 31 months from the priority date. Late entry is possible within 12 months after expiration of the initial term provided that the respective official fee is paid, and the reason for late entry is stipulated.

Minimum filing requirements for entry into PCT national phase in Uzbekistan
- a request to grant a patent containing information about the applicant(s) and inventor(s);
- description, claims, and abstract of the invention (PCT application materials);
- drawings, if any.

Language of the Uzbek patent application based on PCT
An international application should be translated into the Uzbek or Russian language. If the PCT application is submitted in any other language, at least the Uzbek or Russian translation of the set of claims and abstract thereof should be submitted at the time of entering the Uzbek national phase. In this case translation of the rest of the application materials may be provided within two months from the PCT national phase entry in Uzbekistan.

Power of Attorney requirements
A simply signed Power of Attorney should be provided simultaneously with entry into PCT national phase in Uzbekistan in case the applicant is a natural person. If the applicant is a legal entity, a signed and stamped Power of Attorney should be provided to the Uzbek Patent Office upon national phase entry. Official legalization or notarization of the PoA is not required.
A request for conducting substantive examination should be filed within three years from the date of national phase entry.

Grant, validity term and maintenance fee
Official grant fees should be paid within three months from the date of issuance of Notice of Allowance. The validity term of patents in Uzbekistan is 20 years from the international filing date. The first post-grant annuities starting from the 3rd year should be paid within said term as well. All subsequent annuities are counted from the international filing date and are to be paid before the anniversary of the international filing date.

Representation by a patent attorney
Foreign persons should perform the Uzbek national phase entry of a PCT application through an agent, a registered Uzbek patent attorney.
1. Online Search Databases: Uzbek Patents, Uzbek Utility Models.
2. Translation of the International Preliminary Report on Patentability (IPRP) is required.
3. An invention may enter PCT national phase in Uzbekistan as a utility model.
