The present disclosure relates in some aspects to novel compounds containing an amino-phenylmethylene-imidazolone (i.e., amino-phenylmethylidene-imidazolone) core structure. In some aspects, the disclosure further relates to methods of synthesizing the compounds, compositions containing the compounds, and methods of using such compounds, including their administration to subjects. In aspects, features of the compounds include neuromodulatory activity, for example, antagonism of serotonin receptors. In some aspects, the compounds are useful as therapeutic agents, e.g., antipsychotic agents[French]
