Disclosed herein are event detection assemblies and methods for electric submersible pump assembly deployment that may each include: an event detection assembly (100) for electric submersible pump assembly deployment downhole that may include: a reel (114); an electric cable (112) that may be coupled to the reel and may be capable of being electrically coupled to an electric submersible pump assembly (110); one or more sensors (206a-f), which may be: configured to detect a first location on the electric cable and to detect a second location on the electric cable; and configured to detect an event on the cable occurring any time from detection of the first location to detection of the second location; and an alarm (302) configured to actuate in response to detection of an event.[French]
