Abstract[English]
The current invention is about the "dura dissecting knives," which are used to sharply cut and expose both the cranial and the spinal dura safely with a built-in sharp knife while introducing a built-in metallic dissector protective barrier between the dura and the underlying neural tissues in the brain and the spinal cord for extended protection and simultaneous pre-hand dissection, easily manipulated in tricky surgical corners and deep spinal fields simply and seamlessly, time-effectively, and without the need of any other assisting instruments. The invented operative instruments consisted of the footplate (element number 1 in figure l)the shaft of the instrument (element number 2 in figure 1) the sharp knife built-in between the shaft and the upper surface of the footplate, (element number 3 in figure 1) with the underside of the footplate being wholly smooth and protecting the underlying neural tissues during dissection while the instrument is advanced simply forward through a small dura snip and the advantageous footplate-to-shaft angle (element number 4 in figure 1).[French]
