Abstract[English]
A cutting accessory for a surgical cutting instrument. The cutting accessory includes an outer hub, an outer tube (68), and a drive tube coaxially and rotatably disposed within the outer tube. The drive tube may include geometries for transmitting torque along or about a bend. A shank (88) is coupled to the drive tube and defines an annular recess (98). The cutting accessory includes means (80) for preventing axial movement or deflection of the cutting tip (72) relative to the outer tube (68). The means may be a retention feature or member formed with or secured to the outer tube (68), and disposed within the annular recess (98) of the shank. At least one tab may be formed by a slot (104) of the outer tube (68), and deflected inwardly into the annular recess. The retention member (80) may facilitate complementary translation of the drive tube and the outer tube to provide a microdebrider cutting accessory with an adjustable working length.[French]
