Abstract[English] An O-ring having a cross-section comprising projections on opposite sides of the O-ring such that pressure applied to the projections causes expansion of the O-ring in a direction orthogonal to the applied pressure, wherein the O-ring comprises: an elastomeric core and a non-elastomeric coating on the elastomeric core. Also provided is a hollow O-ring having a hollow cross-section comprising: first and second rigid portions on opposite sides of the cross-section of the hollow O-ring, and first and second flexible portions connecting the first and second rigid portions to form the hollow O-ring, wherein the hollow O-ring is configured to provide a seal between outward-facing surfaces of the first and second rigid portions of the O-ring and opposing external surfaces, and the flexible portions are configured to flex to limit the pressure applied by the rigid portions to the opposing external surfaces.[French] Un joint torique présente une section transversale comportant des saillies sur des côtés opposés du joint torique de sorte que la pression appliquée aux saillies provoque l'expansion du joint torique dans une direction orthogonale à la pression appliquée, le joint torique comprenant : un noyau élastomère et un revêtement non élastomère sur le noyau élastomère.
