Provided herein are optical systems for measuring a sample using an optical spectrometer. The optical system may include an optical window configured to separate one or more illumination sources from a sample, a sample chamber comprising a sample chamber inlet channel configured to direct at least a portion of the sample into a portion of the sample chamber, wherein the sample chamber inlet channel defines one or more sample chamber openings vertically adjacent to the optical window, and an optical window protector.[French]
