Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communication. A first apparatus may determine (702) a set of encoder parameters for an encoder model of a two-sided model. The first apparatus may transmit (704) encoded data. The encoded data may be based on an input sample and the encoder model, and the input sample may determine the input to the encoder model and a preferred output of the two-sided model. The first apparatus may also receive (706) a first set of information associated with an output of the two-sided model of a subset of the input sample. The subset of the input sample may be determined based on a first message received from another apparatus or based on a relevance metric determined for each input sample of the input samples.
