An apparatus for a network device, the apparatus comprising at least one processor, and at least one memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the network device to: transmit a handover request to a further network device, the handover request comprising a request for an early acquisition of a timing advance, receive an acknowledgement of the handover request from the further network device, the acknowledgement comprising a set of one or more preambles for the acquisition of the timing advance.[French]
