Abstract[English]
Polycarbonate compositions include: a. from 20 wt% to 93 wt% of a polycarbonate component including one or more of a virgin polycarbonate homopolymer and a post- consumer recycled polycarbonate; b. from 1 wt% to 25 wt% of a polycarbonate-polysiloxane copolymer having (1) a siloxane content of from about 30 wt% to 70 wt% present in an amount effective to provide the composition with a total siloxane content of 0.5 wt% to 25 wt%, and (2) a weight average molecular weight of 26,000 to 50,000 grams per mole, as determined by gel permeation chromatography using polystyrene standards and calculated for polycarbonate; and c. from greater than 6 wt% to 20 wt% of at least one phosphorous flame retardant additive. The flame retardant additive is free of or substantially free of halogen. A molded sample of the polycarbonate composition exhibits a UL-94 rating of V-0 at a thickness of 1.5 mm or less.[French]
L'invention concerne des compositions de polycarbonate comprenant : a. 20 % en poids à 93 % en poids d'un constituant de polycarbonate comprenant un ou plusieurs éléments parmi un homopolymère de polycarbonate vierge et un polycarbonate recyclé post-consommation ; b. 1 % en poids à 25 % en poids d'un copolymère de polycarbonate-polysiloxane présentant (1) une teneur en siloxane d'environ 30 % en poids à 70 % en poids, présent en une quantité efficace pour obtenir la composition avec une teneur totale en siloxane de 0,5 % en poids à 25 % en poids et (2) une masse moléculaire moyenne en poids de 26 000 à 50 000 grammes par mole, telle que déterminée par chromatographie par perméation de gel à l'aide de standards de polystyrène et calculée pour le polycarbonate ; et c. plus de 6 % en poids à 20 % en poids d'au moins un additif ignifuge phosphoreux.
