The present invention relates to compositions comprising Bifidobacterium longum subsp. iuvenis in an effective amount for use in increasing production of at least one polyamine and/or its metabolite, and/or gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), by the gut microbiota of a young individual to promote brain development and/or brain functioning in a young individual.[French]
