The invention relates to a leak detection device for characterizing a connector assembly (2) interconnecting two hydraulic elements, which has a test pipe (1) comprising a blind-end first portion (C1) and a second portion (C2) coupled to the first portion via the connector assembly, the second pipe portion being pressurized under light gas, the test pipe containing a predetermined quantity of molten salts (SF), the device comprising dynamics of movement of the test pipe, which is movable between a first position (P1) in which the connector zone (Z2) is immersed in the molten salts contained in the test pipe and a second position (P2) in which the connector zone is not immersed in the molten salts but is subjected to the light-gas pressure, the device comprising a sealed chamber (3) containing at least the connector.[French]
