Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben eines Displays (22) eines Infotainmentsystems (30) eines Kraftfahrzeugs (10), bei welchem das Display (22) zumindest teilweise temporär gesperrt wird, wenn eine Benutzereingabe durch einen Fahrer des Kraftfahrzeugs (10) für eine vorgegebene Dauer am Display (22) erfasst wurde, wobei das temporäre Sperren des Displays (22) unterbunden wird, wenn erfasst wird, dass eine andere Person als der Fahrer die Benutzereingabe vornimmt.
