Abstract[German] Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Schmalflächenbeschichtung eines Plattenelementes, insbesondere einer Möbelplatte, Holzwerkstoffplatte, Arbeitsplatte, Spanplatte, Leichtbauplatte, Innenausbauplatte, Tür, Faserzementplatte oder dergleichen, wobei die Schmalflächenbeschichtung mittels Kantenbandelementen erfolgt, welches sich dadurch auszeichnet, - dass zunächst wenigstens ein Kantenbandelement zunächst an wenigstens einer Schmalfläche befestigt wird, - dass das Plattenelement und das Kantenbandelement zumindest an einem Rand dieser Schmalfläche unter Bildung von wenigstens einer Ausnehmung Material abtragend bearbeitet wird, - wobei im Zuge dieser Material abtragenden Bearbeitung wenigstens eine Längsrandseite des an dieser Schmalfläche befestigten Kantenbandelementes wenigstens teilweise entfernt wird, - dass danach die Ausnehmung entlang des Randes des Plattenelements mit einem, vorzugsweise polymeren Material, vorzugsweise mittels eines Schmelzverfahrens, aufgefüllt wird, - so dass eine Gestaltung dieses Randes des Plattenelementes unabhängig von der Dicke des Kantenbandelementes erfolgen kann.
