The invention relates to a pressure relief valve (10) for a packaging container (1) with a base plate (11) fixed to the wall (2) of packaging container (1), which has a central valve hole (15) covering through holes (3) in the wall (2) of the packaging container (1), and with a lidding film (13) fixed to the base plate (11), wherein between base plate (11) and lidding film (13) a valve diaphragm (12) leaving a channel free is provided, which covers the valve hole (15) and lies tightly on the base plate (11) in the closing position of the pressure relief valve (10), characterized in that the lidding film (1)3 has a thickness of at least 10 μm, preferably (20) to (70) μm, the valve PE diaphragm (12) has a thickness of at least 10μm, preferably 20 to 10 μm, and the base plate (11) has a thickness of at least 100 μm, preferably 150 to 250 μm wherein as material for the lidding film (13),the valve diaphragm (12) a film made of non-stretched, monoaxial, especially in the machine direction, stretched or biaxially stretched HDPE.[French]
