Abstract[English]
The invention relates to a method for encoding an input signal, which comprises: - obtaining (11) syntax elements representative of the input signal; and - encoding (12) the value of at least one current syntax element: • M-ary to binary conversion (121) of the current syntax element; and • for at least one of the binary elements associated with the current syntax element: ♦ obtaining (1221) information relating to the probability of encoding the current binary element; ♦ applying entropy encoding (1222) to the value of the current binary element; and ♦ if the information relating to the probability of encoding the current binary element is close to an extremum, applying (1232) a first or second entropy encoding mode to at least one subsequent binary element associated with the current syntax element, depending on the value of the current binary element.[French]
