Danach erfolgt ein Fügen (30) des zur Substratoberfläche (10) genau justierten Schutzwafers (14) mittels mindestens einer temporären oder dauerhaften Bondverbindung (32). Danach wird ein bereichsweises oder vollständiges Öffnen (34) mindestens einer Kavität (36, 38) im Schutzwafer (14) zur Vornahme von Ätz- und/oder Beschichtungsprozessen am Produktwafer (12) vorgenommen. Anschließend erfolgt ein Entfernen (40) des Schutzwafers (14) von der vorstrukturierten und/oder beschichteten Substratoberfläche (10) des Produktwafers (12) zur Wiederverwendung des Schutzwafers (14).
