Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Zündkerze, umfassend: eine Mittelelektrode (4), eine Masseelektrode (5) und, ein Gehäuse (2), wobei das Gehäuse (2) eine Aufnahmeöffnung (20) eingerichtet zur Aufnahme der Masseelektrode (5) aufweist, wobei zwischen der Masseelektrode (5) und der Aufnahmeöffnung (20) in Gehäuse (2) eine kraftschlüssige Verbindung (11) ausgebildet ist, wobei die Masseelektrode (5) einen von einem kreisabweichenden Querschnitt aufweist, und wobei ein Querschnitt der Aufnahmeöffnung unterschiedlich zu einem Querschnitt der Masseelektrode (5) ist, sodass zwischen der Masseelektrode (5) und der Aufnahmeöffnung (20) ein Freibereich (9) ausgebildet ist.[English]
