Abstract[English]
Methods for leveraging the charged nature of DNA to promote DNA extension and manipulate its orientation are provided. The methods include attaching highly charged molecules to a free end of a DNA molecule to transform the DNA molecule into a pseudo dipole. Upon applying an external electric field, the charge separation may cause the DNA to extend and/or to align with the electric field lines. This approach offers a practical means to achieve a controlled, unfolded state of DNA with a predetermined orientation.[French]
L'invention concerne des procédés pour exploiter la nature chargée d'ADN pour favoriser l'extension de l'ADN et manipuler son orientation. Les procédés comprennent la fixation de molécules hautement chargées à une extrémité libre d'une molécule d'ADN pour transformer la molécule d'ADN en un pseudo-dipôle. Lors de l'application d'un champ électrique externe, la séparation de charge peut amener l'ADN à s'étendre et/ou à s'aligner avec les lignes de champ électrique. Cette approche offre un moyen pratique pour obtenir un état d'ADN déplié régulé avec une orientation prédéterminée.
