Abstract[English]
The present invention relates to the field of markers to predict the response of treatment of disease. Indeed, the present invention discloses that the amounts of a specific subset of NK cells –i.e. HLADR+CD56dimCD16+ NK cells- in blood samples taken from inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients who do not respond to treatment with a biologic medicine are significantly higher than the amounts which are found in responders to the same treatment. Hence the present invention relates to usages of said specific subset of natural killer (NK) cells to predict the (lack of) response by IBD patients to treatment with biologic medicines and/or to methods to predict the (lack of) response of said treatment.[French]
La présente invention se rapport au domaine des marqueurs pour prédire la réponse au traitement d'une maladie. En effet, la présente invention divulgue que les quantités d'un sous-ensemble spécifique de cellules NK – c'est-à-dire des cellules NK HLADR+CD56dimCD16+ – dans des échantillons de sang prélevés sur des patients atteints de maladie inflammatoire de l'intestin (IBD) qui ne répondent pas au traitement avec un médicament biologique sont significativement supérieures aux quantités qui sont trouvées chez les patients qui répondent au même traitement. Par conséquent, la présente invention concerne des utilisations dudit sous-ensemble spécifique de cellules tueuses naturelles (NK) pour prédire la (le manque de) réponse par des patients atteints d'IBD à un traitement avec des médicaments biologiques et/ou à des procédés pour prédire la (le manque de) réponse audit traitement.
