Abstract[German] Filter üblicher Bauart bestehen aus einem Papierröhrchen, das mit Aktivkohle gefüllt ist und an beiden Enden mit Zellulosefasern und/oder Keramikkappen verschlossen ist. Es existieren auch Filter, die nur aus Zellulose bestehen. Die Filter werden genutzt, um sie mit Zigarettenpapier zu einer Zigarette oder einem Joint zu drehen. Bei gewöhnlicher Benutzung kann eines der Filterenden angesengt bzw. verbrannt werden, wenn man die Zigarette oder den Joint bis zum Ende raucht. Die Filterelemente bestehen aus Zellulose und Kohle oder bestehen aus Keramikkappe/Kohle oder nur Zellulose und sollen mittig in einem aus Papier bestehenden Röhrchen platziert werden. Die Hohlräume zwischen den Filterelementen und dem Ende des Röhrchens sollen mit speziell geformten Einsätzen aus Papier oder Keramik ausgefüllt werden. Die beidseitige Verlängerung des Filters durch das Papierröhrchen soll eine thermische Isolierung gewährleisten und verhindern, dass die Glut direkten Kontakt zum Zellulosefilter bzw. zur Keramikkappe hat. Die speziell geformten Einsätze aus Papier oder Keramik sollen durch die vergrößerte Fläche ein Verstopfen durch austretende Öle verhindern.
