Abstract[English] The compositions and methods for improving or regulating GLP-1 levels, stimulating GLP-1 secretion, ameliorating metabolism including losing weight, managing glucose or insulin tolerance including stimulating insulin secretion, inhibiting glucagon secretion and reducing fasting glucose levels. The compositions comprise β-aminoisobutyric acid, a physiologically acceptable salt, polymer, ester, or 3-hydroxy-3-methylbutanoic acid, a physiologically acceptable salt, polymer, ester, or tributyrin or tributyrin derivative, or mixture thereof.[French] Compositions et méthodes d'amélioration ou de régulation des taux de GLP-1, de stimulation de la sécrétion de GLP-1, d'amélioration du métabolisme, notamment de perte de poids, de gestion de la tolérance au glucose ou à l'insuline, notamment de stimulation de la sécrétion d'insuline, d'inhibition de la sécrétion de glucagon et de réduction des taux de glucose à jeun.
