Abstract[English]
Updates to the existing Random Access Channel (RACH) procedure and updates to messages used in the RACH procedure may be shown to allow a base station, or another network element, determine whether communication with a user equipment (UE) are to be carried out with or without help from one or more Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS). Similarly, a RACH procedure that is updated according to aspects of the present application may allow the base station to inform a UE that communication with the base station is being carried out with or without help from one or more RIS.[French]
Des mises à jour de la procédure de canal d'accès aléatoire (RACH) existante et des mises à jour de messages utilisés dans la procédure RACH peuvent être présentées pour permettre à une station de base, ou à un autre élément de réseau, de déterminer si une communication avec un équipement utilisateur (UE) doit être effectuée avec ou sans aide à partir d'une ou de plusieurs surfaces intelligentes reconfigurables (RIS).
