Dans divers aspects, l'invention concerne des mousses polymères de perfluoroalcoxyalcane ayant un volume de vide particulièrement élevé, une densité particulièrement faible et/ou une conductivité thermique particulièrement faible; l'invention concerne également des procédés de fabrication de ces mousses. Selon un aspect, l'invention concerne une mousse polymère de PFA ayant une densité qui n'est pas supérieure à 35% d'une densité d'une résine de base. Selon un autre aspect, l'invention concerne une mousse polymère de PFA fabriquée par un procédé consistant à amener un ou plusieurs agents moussants chimiques à libérer ensemble à la fois CO2 gazeux et N2 gazeux dans une masse fondue de polymère de PFA; mélanger le CO2 gazeux et le N2 gazeux dans la masse fondue de polymère; amener la masse fondue de polymère à mousser, fournissant ainsi une masse fondue de polymère de PFA moussante; et amener la masse fondue de polymère de PFA moussante à refroidir pour fournir la mousse polymère de PFA.
