Abstract[English]
A vehicle safety system is disclosed including a deployable safety-skirt assembly that enhances passenger protection during ingress and egress operations. The system includes a skirt assembly configured to extend and retract underneath a vehicle, and an actuator mechanically coupled to the skirt assembly. The skirt assembly creates a protective barrier between the underside of the vehicle and the ground surface when deployed, preventing individuals, particularly children, from accessing the hazardous undercarriage zone during boarding and alighting procedures. The system can be triggered by door operations, sensor detection of nearby objects or individuals, vehicle deceleration, or geographic location.[French]
Un système de sécurité de véhicule est divulgué comprenant un ensemble jupe protectrice déployable qui améliore la protection des passagers pendant les opérations d'entrée et de sortie.
