Abstract[English]
In this specification, a new design and formulation of an expandable dosage form is presented where the post-expansion mechanical properties and the drug release rate by the dosage form can be independently controlled. The dosage form generally comprises a fluid-absorptive, expandable solid core, a mechanically strengthening semi-permeable layer substantially encapsulating said fluid-absorptive core, and a drug-containing solid applied outside said encapsulated core.[French]
La présente invention concerne une nouvelle conception et une nouvelle formulation d'une forme galénique expansible, dont les propriétés mécaniques post-expansion et le taux de libération de médicament par la forme galénique peuvent être commandés indépendamment. La forme galénique comprend généralement un noyau solide expansible, absorbant les fluides, une couche semi-perméable de renforcement mécanique encapsulant sensiblement ledit noyau absorbant les fluides, et un solide contenant un médicament appliqué à l'extérieur dudit noyau encapsulé.
